Level 1 ESD Instructor training is a unique week-long intensive program for Self-Defense Instructors, both aspiring and experienced, who want to develop their skills to deliver Empowerment Self-Defense (ESD) training in their communities. Level 1 ESD Instructors are qualified to provide a 10-hour ESD course to adults, as well as shorter formats.
Level 2 ESD Instructor training is for experienced Empowerment Self-Defense Instructors to gain more depth in their knowledge and explore teaching diverse and inclusive populations.
After training, ESD Instructors will continue to develop their skills through ESD Global online webinars, one to one mentoring, and by teaching ESD in their community.
ESD Global Instructor training is open to all female-identified persons.

ESD Global's residential training program cost is $2500, including room and board. Certain locations have availability for non-residential, local participants at a reduced cost.
We are committed to ensuring that cost is not a barrier to participate in ESD Instructor training. Partial needs-based scholarships are available to cover the program cost, travel cost, lost time at work or additional childcare.
The goal of ESD Global is to support universal access to Empowerment Self-Defense training. Please let us know if you need funding to cover the program cost, travel, lost time at work or additional childcare.
No. Most Instructors have a martial arts background, however, related relevant experience also qualifies you to attend training.

Level 2 ESD Instructor training is for experienced Empowerment Self-Defense Instructors to deepen their knowledge teaching diverse and inclusive populations.
